DISTANT DRUMS (RED)
“Distant Drums” is the title of Hideaki Hamada’s quiet, uplifting photographic exploration of the world and its beauties.
“Rather than the well-visited tourist spots that take your breath away, the heart truly jumps when you notice the subtleties and nuances in places that tend to be overlooked and forgotten. Put simply, while these photographs were taken at travel destinations, the theme isn’t ‘travel’ but the sense of distance between oneself and the sceneries. I’d like this to be a book that does not make you want to go away somewhere but feel that you are already there.”
The title “Distant Drums” took inspiration from a Haruki Murakami essay; the two editions Red and Green differ only regarding the color on the cover.
