Salute, Mr.Taut
This is Tamami Iinuma’s first booklet which contains 12 photographs of Bruno Taut’s architecture. Bruno Taut constructed variations of colorful collective houses in Germany during 1920’s. When Nazism began to spread across Europe, he escaped to Japan and discovered that European modernism was rooted in Japanese traditional aesthetic. Tamami Iinuma composites the colors of Bruno Taut and the colors that she found on the street today. This booklet’s folding screen style structure makes it possible for the viewer to play with the colors inhis/herhand.
