The photobook “Nikki” (Japanese for “diary”) by London-based Japanese photographer Piczo delivers a collection of visual daily musings taken between 2015 and 2021. For the book, Piczo flattened both time and location at once, and rearranged his recorded experiences (which span many genres—casual snapshots are as much part of “Nikki” as professional portraits, food photographs, abstract compositions and playful, personal captures) according to his preferences. The resulting book shares the artist’s soft perspective regarding his subjects and gently permeates the reader with its curiosity and optimistic approach to everyday life.
