A quiet hunch of beauty, waiting to be recognized
Sana Kohmoto’s first photobook is filled with objects and calm sensations within daily life that piqued her interest. Through the laborious process of reviewing negatives, printing, the trials, errors and repeated attempts, Kohmoto becomes closely acquainted with her photographs and her own sensations.
Her unique compositions do not present pre-digested results but invite the reader to make their own discoveries, draw their own conclusions, find their own beauty. Contrary to clear concepts and impactful images, Kohomoto favors vagueness and ambiguity.
