Japanese painter and photographer.
Japanese painter, cartoonist, and photographer based in Tokyo. Born in Kumamoto Prefecture. Self-taught in art. Often referred to as one of the most grotesque artists along with Kei Nemoto, he has not been active nationally in commercial magazines like Nemoto, but has been active and appreciated both locally in Tokyo and internationally (mainly in Europe and the United States). His works are mainly grotesque, eroticism, virgins, and mothers, and many of them are self-published in booklet form. He paints in ink on white paper and rarely uses color.
Influenced by the anti-art movement Dadaism, she found the art style she was looking for in it and created her own art style, "Badaism.
He began his activities in the late 1980s. In 1990, he published his first work in booklet form, "Thirty-Seven-Year-Old Rakushiko. The title was derived from the age of his mother when she gave birth to him. Since then, his works have been published at a pace of one book every year or two.
In 1997, he created "Misen Ezumi," a character who recalls past events triggered by a female clerk he met while shopping at a convenience store, and in 1998, he created "Navel Toad" in an attempt to create a beloved character. These characters appeared mainly in comic books and other media.
In 2006, he held his first solo exhibition at le monte en l'air in France, and the following year he held another solo exhibition there. 2008-2010, he organized a joint exhibition with Japanese artists called "LE JAPON PARANO" there.
Since 2011, he has held solo exhibitions overseas (mainly in Paris).
