Mika Horie is an artist who focuses on Japanese paper photographic work, interested in encouraging the viewer to forget about time and cultural differences. Her work has been exhibited in Belgium, the USA, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the UK, and South Korea.

She grew up in Kyoto and studied photography and design at Kyoto University of Art and Design, and fine art with a focus on European conceptual art at Kingston University London. Since 2013 she’s lived in Ishikawa, making handmade paper with ancient techniques and cyanotype printing her photographs on it using sunlight.
