The fourth issue of the street photography zine Vacuum (published by Osaka-based Vacuum Gallery) features photographs by Jun Abe, Ryosuke Koshino, Nagisa Goto, Jade Chen, Yuko Hirano, Kosato Matsuoka, Shogo Yamada, Hsuan Lang Lin, Jumpei Seto and Takuya Suzuki.
Vacuum 4 (like the previous three issues) is remarkable for its strong belief in the power of the individual photograph (evident by its minimal use of text and a design that provides full focus to the images themselves) and for offering each participating photographer the necessary space for a fully breathing series whose themes they are free to choose. The result is an energetic, diverse magazine that keeps exploring the ongoing possibilities and contexts of black-and-white street photography.
