After two self-published books in 2012 and 2013, “Aononymous / Full Circle” is the third book in Masako Kakizaki’s Aononymous series.
For the series, Kakizaki photographs landscapes and nature in his home prefecture of Aomori. Yet few personal feelings have made it into the photographs, despite a life’s worth of personal attachment to the area.
Kakizaki approaches his photographs in a unique manner. Reducing his own presence to a transparent layer, Kakizaki enters the nature of Aomori and lets himself be absorbed. The resulting photographs capture the places he visits from the level of a cell.
In strange, unexpected ways, "Aononymous / Full Circle” reminds us humans of our part in nature.
