Kochi Diary

Peter BIALOBRZESKI

Publisher: The Velvet Cell

In Kochi Dairy – the 5th installment in the City Diary series – Bialobrzeski turns his gaze on the city of Kochi, on the Indian subcontinent. Kochi Diary was shot in July 2016.

“1st August 2016: The Wear Helmet, Get Petrol, Be Safe campaign starts today. That doesn’t mean, of course, that you’ll be refused petrol if you aren’t wearing protective gear. Instead, you’ll be handed a campaign leaflet by the pump–operator. In the Kochi–Ernakulam area there have been 17,000 two-wheeler accidents in the past three years, with more than 1,200 motorists dead. The Hindu states: “Besides poor road conditions, the presence of young brats with snazzy new superbikes … is proving to be a major cause of concern.” ― Peter Bialobrzeski
