The Works of Nobuyoshi Araki 3: Yoko
The third volume in Japanese publisher Heibonsha’s series “The Works of Nobuyoshi Araki” is dedicated to Yoko, Araki’s wife. Ever since “Sentimental Journey”, the photobook about their honeymoon, Yoko was Araki’s favorite model.
Arranged in chronological order, the book covers their time together in photographs – from their first meeting at marketing giant Dentsu to Araki holding her hand on her deathbed. From the time they were young lovers to their honeymoon, their daily life together, the ups and downs, and the illness at the end. Including many previously unreleased photographs, the reader feels as if they are allowed to share their lives.
The book also includes several texts and essays by Nobuyoshi and Yoko Araki (only available in Japanese).
