Hello Goodbye
Chan Wai Kwong’s 2018 photobook “Hello Goodbye” is another proof of the severely underrated Hong Kong resident’s talent to relay entire lives in his photographs. This time relying on a multitude of photographic techniques—multiple exposures, color, close-ups, wide-angles, comic-panel like arrangements, and of course his signature black-and-white—, Chan Wai Kwong creates an almost overwhelming flood of images which—rather than merely journalize his life—tell us “this is how rich/wild/chaotic life is.”
